New Catalogs Posted!
We posted a new Tubelite, Inc.
catalog on 04-18-12. This catalog has the latest pricing and all
obsolete parts have been removed. There is also an
UpdateTubelite.exe tool that installs with the catalog update in
the Tubelite vendor folder. This tool will allow you to either
update the pricing in your existing Tubelite catalog by entering
new pricing factors, or it will let you update your existing
catalog by pulling part and pricing information from the updated
catalog that was installed. Warning - this tool is only
recommended for advanced users! A brand new Trulite Glass &
Aluminum Solutions catalog was posted on 03-28-12. This
catalog has been verified by Trulite and contains all of their
systems and prices. Trulite is the NEW company formed from the
Arch Aluminum and Vitro America merger. As a result this new
catalog replaces the Arch Aluminum and Vitro
America catalogs. An updated YKK AP America
catalog was re-posted on 04-02-12. Shear block curtain wall
systems were corrected to include the proper shear block parts.
The previous update added impact doors and door details, as well as two new systems
(YES 45XT and YHC 30OG). An update to the Vistawall/OldCastle
catalog was posted on 02-23-12. We corrected some door frames
that were missing open back filler material, moved 10" bottom
rail parts to correct place, and added sill receptor to FG1000
systems. Go to our

Patch Now Available!
Go to the
WinBidPro v15 page, read the
directions and download the latest
release of this new program. If you have a current
subscription to the GDS software, this
version will use the same license.
Version 15 installs as a whole new
program, and does not affect the v14
program that you may already have. You
can use both programs until you get
comfortable with the new one.

Important v15 Tech Issues |
Tech Tip for WinBidPro Users!
Make sure you have the latest v15.1.26 update
which includes the
latest update to the Repair Utility. If you are a heavy
user of WinBidPro, we highly recommend that you compact your
vendor catalogs once a week. If you use the program less
frequently, you can do this every few weeks or even once a
month. Set a schedule so that you will remember to do this on a
regular basis. It is very simple to do with the new v15 Repair
Utility.
Here's how:
* Make sure WinBidPro is closed and that all network users are
out of the program
* Click Start, then All Programs
* Open the WinBidPro v15 by GDS program group
* Click the Database Repair Utility link
* Click the Compact All v15.1 Vendors button
This will compact all catalogs
in your WinBidPro vendor list. Doing this on a regular basis
will keep these catalogs at an efficient size and will help
prevent possible corruption that can occur when catalogs get too
large.

Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility
We have tested WinBidPro with Windows 7, and as
expected, everything runs fine. It may still be necessary to
install the software by using the "Run as Administrator" option
that we recommend for Windows Vista, but everything works great.
This should be a much faster and less troublesome operating
system than Vista.

User Account Control (UAC)-
Troubleshooting Tip!
UAC is something Microsoft added to Windows Vista and Windows 7.
This is the security layer in Windows that prompts you to
"Allow" when you install software, among other things. We have
found in some cases that our software will not run on a Vista or
7 machine unless the UAC is turned "OFF". We still can't explain
why some computers require this, and others don't, but we do
know that this is often the culprit if our software will not
install or run properly.

Sharing Catalogs:
WinBidPro v15 allows multiple people to use the
same vendor catalogs. Read this help document on
Sharing Vendor Catalogs to learn how to set
this up on your network.
Program Already Running
Message:
If you get a message that WinBidPro is "already
running" on your computer when you try to open
WinBidPro, you should reboot your computer.
Sometimes this occurs after installing the
program, and shouldn't happen again after
rebooting. You also want to make sure you have
the latest version of our software installed, as
this issue has been addressed in an update.
