Read this before updating to v15.1.16
If you are upgrading from
v15.1.13 or older, you will need to uninstall the WinBidPro
software, then install the latest version. You will also need to
uninstall the "VectorDraw Lite File Converter" from the
"Add or Remove" section of the control panel. If you don't
remove this converter, you might receive an "Error 1713" during
the installation of the new version. If you are updating from
v15.1.14, you can simply run the patch file below the full
install. Go to the v15 Download
Page to get the latest update.
Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility
We have tested WinBidPro with Windows 7, and as
expected, everything runs fine. It may still be necessary to
install the software by using the "Run as Administrator" option
that we recommend for Windows Vista, but everything works great.
This should be a much faster and less troublesome operating
system than Vista.
Protect Against Database Corruption
Make sure you CLOSE your GDS software at night when you are done
with it. We have seen a handful of cases where the vendor
database gets corrupted beyond repair. Potential causes could be
the operating system freezing up, computer crashing, power
surge, or even Windows Updates restarting your computer. If the
GDS software is open when this occurs, it is very possible that
the database file can become corrupted. See the

like this happens.

Important GDS News
v15.1.16 Now Available!
Go to the
WinBidPro v15 page, read the
directions and download the latest
release of this new program. If you have a current
subscription to the GDS software, this
version will use the same license.
Version 15 installs as a whole new
program, and does not affect the v14
program that you may already have. You
can use both programs until you get
comfortable with the new one.
Correction in Pricing made to Tubelite
2009 Catalog!
The base
(clear/dark bronze) pricing was not
updated correctly in the r2 catalog for
Tubelite. We have corrected this problem
in the r3 catalog. Go to the
v15 Vendors
page to download this latest catalog.
Important Correction to US Aluminum 2009
Catalog!
We found a
problem in Framing Systems #2-20 in this
catalog, where the "Add/Deduct for
Vertical Mullions and Jambs" setting
erroneously has a value. Edit these
system and zero out this field (in the
Frame Characteristics frame at the
bottom of the Framing System Parts
window). If this value has a positive
number it will add this amount to the
length of your vertical material, making
your verticals too long.
Also
check the Stock Lengths tab in the Door
Frame Parts window for any "Open Back"
door frame. You might have to enter the
left and right door jamb "Pocket Filler"
part number to these door frames.

Installation Labor is WAY TOO HIGH!
Error Notice!
The "Labor Hours" figure on the Final
Labor Summary report is not calculated
correctly in the v15.1.14 program. You
should ignore this number until we
release our next update. To our
knowledge, it is not including entrance
time, and multiple quantities of a given
elevation.

Program Already Running
Message:
If you get a message that WinBidPro is "already
running" on your computer when you try to open
WinBidPro, you should reboot your computer.
Sometimes this occurs after installing the
program, and shouldn't happen again after
rebooting.
